Journey: Cultural Living Dance

We cannot rely on our mainstream Dance organisations anymore. Artist-led platforms are crucial more than ever. It’s the only way forward.

I am thrilled to launch a new project today called JOURNEY.

It’s a performance platform to showcase Australian professional dance makers working in the intercultural space. It is for dancemakers from across the country.

Tiina Alinen is an independent artist based in Brisbane. Tiina and myself are collaborating to create a show reel, a performance platform and an online portal.

Stage 1 is about raising funds for the Showreel. We were successful in our application to Creative Partnerships Australia for Match Funds and doing their two-day online induction process in February.

Now every dollar will be matched by Creative Partnerships Australia MATCH Funds. Thank you Australian Cultural Fund for hosting this project!
