SHOW SYNOPSIS

Organically grown during Covid-19 lockdowns, Annalouise was determined to dance. She found a local community hall with a veranda and a local wharf to practice on for the entire two years. Connection with the locals was strong. She met walkers, boaties, dogs and children and a little boy on a scooter who asked, ‘Are you making a show? For everybody?’ A few months later a show was born.

Flamenco for Everybody is an exhilarating theatrical experience that opens with Annalouise telling her story and unfolds into a full live concert of languid live Flamenco guitar, Spanish songs and poetry, high-energy percussion, contemporary flamenco dance, video art and evocative sound design.

This is an Australian story seamlessly woven, deeply emotional and energising. A brave show that shares its resilience with communities everywhere that faced the adverse effects of Covid-19, harsh drought, bushfires and isolation. It is the very spirit of this dance and music that uplifts and heals.

You’ll love to listen but by the end, you’ll want to get up and dance!
